Now, THAT is a purty Kimber! They sure have taken the bull by the horns and made a serious effort to step up the quality of their 1911's and i'm impressed, not an easy thing to do! My Eclipse is an outstanding pistol, worthy of the 1911 legacy!

Thank you! Shipped today, number 955 of 1000, NIB. Pictures off another auction. Discontinued years ago. Gold Combat 2 limited edition in black chrome. This one went for $2900 on Gun Broker. I paid $2300 for mine and found it in a small town in Nebraska. The most I ever spent on a pistol but you can see why.

Besides the finish and checkering notice the French Shoulder on front lower of the slide.

Not a lot of 1911 companies manage to get that area right, and it drives me bonkers! When I first started building 2011 series 1911's that was one area where every one else got it wrong, and it really shows! I buy my frames long and then only after the slide is completely fit do I cut it to match the slide EXACTLY, which is how J.M. Browning did it!

I'm picking up a G20 tomorrow for a beater woods gun. But adding one in the 1911 variant would be a great idea.

Plenty to choose from. I found this RIA for $430 bucks with the nice extras you would want. Ambi safety, Combat trigger and hammer, high beaver tail and Novack sights. Beater gun and carry rotation. Nothing wrong with RIA for the money.

Just traded for my eighth 38 Super. Added a 9 round mag for 10 rounds total and some grips I had laying around. This is in the rotation also.
