Quote The 19-year-old Bouche allegedly told Marion County Sheriff's investigators he considered shooting up a church but settled on a school because "it creates more attention."

Bouche told authorities he purchased the shotgun in a private sale roughly a week after the Parkland shooting. He said there is no paperwork for the 1930 shotgun, and there was no background check because it was a private sale.

Detectives said Bouche told them he felt an adrenaline rush Friday morning and was ready for the shooting but said the excitement quickly wore off, and he was unable to carry out his plan. When he first entered the school, he said it was empty so he went to the bathroom and put on a tactical vest and gloves.

Bouche told detectives he fired into a classroom door and the shrapnel hit a student in the ankle. The alleged shooter then dropped his weapon and surrendered to one of his former teachers.

"His hands were up and he said he wanted to be arrested ... 'I am mentally ill,'" Kelly McManis-Panasuk quoted him as saying.

She said he told her he didn't think the gun would work. The two talked for about three minutes until the principal and school resource officer took him into custody. Unquote

Yet another example of this country's fail MH policies in practice!

Easily manipulated children are being used by the Leftists - to try and give away their rights before they are of age to accept the responsibility of having them.

If it were about ACTUAL deaths and injuries - they would be protesting that their own cell phones should be taken away.

That would require they make a change in their lives. Libs never do that. Libs always want others to change their lives to meet the demands of the libs.

My daughter is a sophomore at her local school. The kids are more concerned with prom than with gun control. They will bow to peer pressure and attend a walkout with their friends that was enabled by faculty, but most view it as a chance to get out of school early. The Sheriff hit the nail on the head, it's a change in the culture of our country, not law enforcement, but one has to ask where the security is on these campuses. With the recent spate of events wouldn't security be stepped up a little? How does someone walk on campus with a long gun? And as commented above, with social media, you can become famous immediately for doing something outrageous like snorting condoms, eating soap pods or shooting up a school. Where are the parents?
