Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Southwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Atricle partial quote:
It has been just eight months since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., brought the issue of guns to the top of the political agenda, and according to a new poll from Gallup, 61 percent of Americans think America's gun laws ought to be made more strict. That's down slightly from the 67 percent that Gallup recorded just after Parkland, but it's still higher than the norm in the last decade.
Which leads to the question: Why isn't this a bigger issue in the 2018 election?
The simplest answer is that there are just too many other things competing for voters' attention: health care, the Supreme Court, the Russia scandal and generalized disgust with President Trump, to name a few. Indeed, it turns out that there is only one — yes, one — initiative on state ballots this year regarding guns. Unquote.
What the newspeek WP Op-ed article doesn't tell readers is the gallup poll states, the percentage has dropped six (6) percentage point since march!!! Quote:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sixty-one percent of Americans favor stricter laws on the sale of firearms, down modestly from March, when 67% said this shortly after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting on Feb. 14. The current reading is similar to the 60% measured last fall after the Las Vegas mass shooting. Unquote Six in 10 Americans Support Stricter Gun Laws
All in all, it is another newspeek media as well as gallup's mentality to keep the subject alive and in front of this nation's citizenry via shock & awe headlines citing misleading statistics to propagate propaganda and increase sales volume.
