The types of people who'd ask such a question are those who place far too much faith in government. If I remember correctly, the English disarmed their constables in 1820. Since then, there has been a "national teaching" if you will that guns are evil, for evil people and that no good ever comes from owning a firearm. The Freedom-haters in this country are attempting the same ideology. Americans have the Second Amendment. That gives us the power and the Right to fight the batsards who would disarm us. History tells us repeatedly that genocide almost always follows gun control. One of the comments to the article was "why does anyone in England need a gun". Apparently they haven't stepped foot out of their door for some time now. Violent crime is on the upswing there as it is everywhere that draconian gun control laws are enacted.
Mexico had its equivalent of a 2nd amendment but has basically written and regulated it out of existence. The murder rates there are triple what they are here. Really reinforces your post. The types of people who'd ask such a question are those who place far too much faith in government. If I remember correctly, the English disarmed their constables in 1820. Another damned good reason not to travel to GB...
That is the difference between a subject and a citizen.
