Bought this Old Army in 1976. Has the inscription on the top of the barrel made in the 200th year. I'm haven't had any luck finding out why it has a 4 digit serial number. Everything I researched has more than 4 numbers anyone have any thoughts?

I bought one of those in 1972 or 73.. It was a big honker, blued.. one of the earlier models. I liked it and trusted it, but had to sell it to get something for work Wish I still had it, they are going way up in price.. Someday, maybe a stainless 🙂 Don't remember the serial # so no help there..☚ī¸
