To those who are wondering, the "bullet-button" can be removed in less than 3 minutes AT THE RANGE, with no special tools and replaced as easily. I watched it happen the last time I was at front-site.
Ya, those gangbangers would NEVER figure this one out, so it makes it "safe," as opposed to those milspec ARs which are "dangerous." Did we mention the 2-foot spray of fire out of the end of an AR with no flash-suppressor which in so-cal makes it a serious fire hazard?
But hey, there's hardly EVER a home lost to fires in So-Cal....
