They are confusing, difficult to understand and seem to change every few years. What are they? Arizona's gun laws.

The rules and regulations about where you can carry a gun and where you can't are as about as convoluted as the molecular structure for glucose.

"They (the laws) are loose and confusing to many people," said former State Representative Chad Campbell.

The law details places you can and can't carry a handgun into but those laws include whether you have a properly posted sign outside your business. Making things even more complicated are rules related to a business that serves alcohol.

If there is not a sign posted and you have a concealed carry permit, you can carry a gun into the establishment if you don't drink. If you do, that is a violation.

"You are breaking the law at that point," Campbell said. "You can't be drinking."

At Tom Yum Thai restaurant in downtown Phoenix, customers are greeted by a sign alerting them that no guns are allowed.

It actually very simple here in Arizona & I have only one rule about carrying guns--If you must pass through a metal detector, leave the gun in the car, or just go home, otherwise it is safe to carry
The Costco's have even taken down their No Guns signs

I carry in Costco all the time without issues. Of course I never did stop carrying in there either. I'm not pulling a weapon out and waving it around - so there has never been even a hint of an instance where anybody even noticed I was carrying. I don't carry in Federal buildings or at the airport - or like was said - anywhere you have to pass through a metal detector.

Years ago I was talking with a worker at one of the Costco stores about the danger of not allowing member's to carry in the store. He told me he used to work at a californy costco store and one day a nut showed up with an AK-47 and started shooting--said it was no problem for costco, cause they just closed all the doors and let the police handle it. I asked what happened to the folks outside? Since they had likely already disarmed themselves as they were on their way into costco--He said that wasn't costco's problem--
I closed out my membership
A year later I re-applied, my parents like to shop at costco and I was getting tired of the Sam's Club

I carry all the time. If it's posted at a business, then you can't. The cops even told me I can have my AR loaded and ready to go in my vehicle..

recently there was a guy who carried a loaded AR strapped across his back on a public bus in Tucson. Some of the other riders were upset. The driver called it in, cops met the man and escorted him off for questioning. The story made all the TV stations and the media made it known that it was totally legal.
