From the article:

"Just this past Tuesday, on December 10th, the Board of Supervisors from Tazewell County passed two different resolutions in light of controversy circling those who are pro-gun. The first resolution declared the county to be a second amendment sanctuary. This is not at all surprising to see, as 76 out of 95 counties, 9 out of 38 independent cities, and 13 towns have adopted second amendment sanctuary resolutions.

"The second item on the agenda was the proposition of establishing a militia in the county. When both of the resolutions passed, the crowd cheered loudly in support of the decisions. Also, the resolutions didn't exactly pass by a small margin; the votes were unanimous, with more than 200 citizens standing by in support."

The unanimous support we see here sends a very profound message... The gun-grabbing politicians better wake up and reconsider the notion of sending in the National Guard, or there will be a blood bath the likes of which this country hasn't seen since 1861-1865, and a political black eye so big they'll never recover from it.

Hopefully violence will not break out, though it seems the legislators doubling down on their threats seem to be pushing in that direction. Recall elections seem to be in order.

1988c4 sez: "I would like very much for someone to say the 1911 .45 was designed to kill people. The AR15 was designed to kill people. All of you are drawn to it because of it's lethality. Yet the NRA says it defends sportsmans gun rights."

I sez: Actually the NRA lobbies to protect gun rights and the Second Amendment. Only as a salient issue do they protect "sportsman's rights".
The British invasion of the Malvinas was a modern force, well-equipped all around and it won the sea/air battles first. Then they occupied an island staffed by ill-equipped and unwilling draftees... there was never any question about how it would go.. and the Brits and Argies were BOTH carrying versions of the FAL rifle.. which like other 7.62X51 rifles, do poorly on full-auto, so most militaries remove the full-auto function on FAL rifles.

Once the FALs had been castrated, were they no longer considered to be "assault rifles?" Were they even any more "battle rifles?" Maybe they ascended to the level of being "hunting rifles?"

The dingbat who started this thread seems to be happily gone from the board. Pray we never see him again...

The FAL is in fact an AMAZING battle rifle, simply misunderstood here in the States United, it should never have been made as a Full Auto rifle, and lumping it in with those is a disservice. I would say in all honesty that the FAL can hold it's own with the M-14/M1-A and when properly set up, makes an even better DMR then the M-21! There is a reason it's called "The Right Arm of the Free World" it was selected to arm over 90 countries, far out pacing it's contemporaries such as the G-3 and M-14! A lot of the hate and misunderstanding with it comes from the lack of good rifles, instead having to source through kits and some times shady builders like Century, so they are very much hit and miss! Once you get a good one, you best hang on to it and you really have something special!
Think of them like the AK, but for adults!

Ive had a couple FALs.. my keeper is a Rhodie (RA receiver marked) kit built on an Imbel. Apparently some Imbels made it to the Land That God Forgot too, as the whole kit is Imbel, not just the replacement receiver. Like the Old Woman, she's a keeper.

I have an original Steyr lower and barrel from a cut kit that I built with an type 1 80% upper, and installed wood furnature on it! Very nice shooting rifle and as reliable as any! Also built a full on U.S.M.C. Trials rifle replica from a DS Arms forged Hampton lower and another 80% upper with Douglas barrel and the later pebble grain plastics, shoots lights out all day long and will match a M-1A National Match any day of the week! And my fav build, a Full Blueprinted Hampton forged lower on a DS Arms forged upper with Douglas Heavy R5 barrel and custom wood stocks, this rifle will shoot every bit the equal to an H-K PSG-1!

I am amazed at how frightened gun owners are at the reality of the 2nd amendment. I sense this reluctance even among you guys to come out and say what the 2nd amendment is and what it isn't is the right to hunt or defend property or self. Wrong wrong wrong. The 2nd amendment guarantees the right for every American to own the same rifle as the US Army. It was modified and a tax was added to own full auto weapons. Is the AR15 a home defense weapon? Is the Garand? A shotgun is the best weapon not a rifle caliber in an apartment building. Trying to make a point is all. The law allows for the defense against the US Army and the public refuses to even discuss it.
I say change the constitution article 5 and end ownership of all weapons other than weapons for hunting, home defense, and self defense. If nobody has the stones to stand up and say what the 2nd amendment is then why have it? Nobody cares enough to even say it much less argue the fact. I have mine buried so I don't give a bubblegum what you folks give away. This is what some guys say and that is just great. If heaven forbid there are ever soldiers on our streets then a .22 long rifle will get a machine gun. Guns will be everywhere trust me. Till then end the 20 round mag rifle all 120 million. It is a bubblegum show at both ends.

Bruh, you've just been hangin' out in the wrong rock garden... ;)

I respond: Dude if you think a .22LR is going to get anyone a machine-gun you have megalomania of the .22! Today's soldiers wear body armor and kevlar helmets.. not the best stuff for a .22LR to penetrate.

So I'm confused. You support the 2nd amendment or you don't?

This comment is sarcastic I take it.

I don't think that the younger generation understands any of the constitution since they quit teaching it in school. With that said they sure as hell don't understand the true meaning behind any of them and I highly doubt that they have read it to even have an opinion on it. They are being force fed an agenda that serves only one purpose and that is for a socialist state and the disarmament of the populace.
According to the text books in the 90's 'The Second Amendment is no longer used since the forming of the national guard' and 'it gives the state the right to form the militia.'

To the nut in this group. Keep in mind, the patriotic gun owners registered on this site, are not the only ones reading your comments. There are also those who are actively attempting to get rid of MAGA. These include upper administration of our Federal law enforcement (FBI, CIA, Attorneys). Be careful what you put on paper. You never know when it will come back to bite you.

LOL
I was back home in Colorado a year or so ago and packing as I always do, I went to the hardware store and this family got in line behind me at the store and the little boy said to his dad "look dad, he's carrying a Colt on his belt" to which his dad got a little embarrassed as I turned around with a smile on my face, Dad said Yes son, this nice man is carrying a Colt! I was proud, the Dad was proud, and I told them so! That the kid could actually identify a Colt in a holster, and that he even knew what it was! Very slowly, I slid it out of it's holster for the kid to get a closer look, My Colt 1911 SXE, to which the Kid went WOW, never seen one like that before, and I told him about it and my reasons why i carried this particular Colt!

Had another time,( I open carry my Old Army in a crass draw holster,) and this guy kinda whispers "Boy, nice to see someone rockin it Old School, you must really know how to shoot Revolvers to carry only one) you must know what your doing! I just patted the hilt and kinda smiled!
Yup, beware the man who only carries one gun, he likely knows how to use it! And, Beware the Old Man who has fought long enough in a game that doesn't see many men make it to old age!

Are you for real. You're lucky the guy behind you was not MS-13. He might have grabbed your gun and pistol whipped the hell out of you, at the very least. Why do you think concealed carry is so popular. It's so people don't know you have a piece and you can use it to your advantage if a serious situation should occur.

I hop you grow up quickly before someone takes you to the toolshed. It could be a very costly lesson for you.

Perhaps you should get to know folks first before you shoot your mouth off about things you know nothing about!
