The Nevada Senate Judiciary Committee will vet three different gun control proposals this week, with two separate hearings scheduled Wednesday and Friday.

Two of the bills, Senate Bill 124 and Senate Bill 387, address gun ownership for those convicted of domestic violence charges or the subject of protection from abuse orders.

Senate Bill 124 revises state law to require subjects of extended protective orders surrender, sell or transfer their firearms via court directive — once just a decision left to the discretion of the judge. The bill's language expands the list of persons prohibited from owning a gun to include those convicted of domestic violence, stalking or the current subject of an extended protective order.

Bloomberg is PISSED that his minions screwed up the UBC law up there, so I am willing to bet a lot of this is funded from NYC. Fight the good fight, Nevada!

Constitutional rights are nationwide. Local jurisdictions should not have the ability to remove or modify or infringe upon these rights.

I believe that any "infringement" on gun owners rights should also be absolutely mirrored with similar "infringements" on voting rights. Any restriction tied to firearms should then also be tied to voting. If the anti-gun zealots want to create "gun free" cities... those cities should then also be prohibited from voting in Federal elections. If they want to specifically tax weapons that somebody has a Constitutional Right to purchase, own and carry? Then the same tax should be applied to casting their votes. We hear certain factions of our political system screaming if ID is asked for to vote. Why is it they don't scream if ID is asked for when purchasing a firearm?
