The article asks if cleaning and lubricating your firearm is a "modification?" My opinion is that the cleaning and lubrication of the firearm you filled with gunshot residue earlier this afternoon is not a "modification." To take the ignorance of this proposed law to its ridiculous extreme, would it be a "modification" to remove any dirt and grit that came from the ground while you were at the range today? Some AR-15 owners will take earthtone spray paints and paint their rifle to camouflage it. Is that a verboten modification?

The article states that a customer can enter a Big 5 sporting goods store, and buy a semi-automatic rifle that will fire a greater number of bullets per second than can a combat weapon used by the US military. If there was ever an example of a fool with too much mouth and too little information, this would be it. It's like saying you can go down to your local Chevrolet dealership and buy a four-door passenger car that will blow an Indianapolis 500 machine into the weeds which begs the question, "Why do so many blithering idiots enter politics?"
