If I did this right, 1.0 divided by 0.0000085641 = 116, 766. An American who abides the law and has no plans to commit suicide has one chance in 116,766 chances to meet his end in an event involving a firearm. Seems kind o' small to me. 116,766 days is right around 320 years, to give it some human scale. Seems even smaller once it's expressed in those numbers...
