The rifle in question is unbelievably accurate, cold bore im on paper at 1000. As far as the recoil because of that large muzzle break its feel no diffrent than a .308. The rifle weighs around nine pounds so its not too heavy. That muzzle break is definilty needed for that rifle. But you are very correct in the sense of value in talking about a rifle that isnt accurate. I mean i would never say " Hey check out this spotting scope, it can only see ten feet. But isnt it nice though? "
 
One of my favorite big bores is a Browming B78, single shot; chambered in 300 win mag. I'm hoping to shoot the 1000 yd milk jug this summer. I have a 1937 model 70 Winchester that hits at 3'oclock on the 1000 yr range near
Price Utah. It's a 30'06.
