Too bad you live so far away. I'd love to have another lefty shoot my two lefty rifles, just to see what a real shooter can do with what I know are two very accurate rifles...
I have several Lefty rifles. I shot a right-hand Husqvarna 30-06 for years and finally sprung for a Remington 700BDL in 7mm Mag. I have 2 Ruger #1 in 45-70 and 25-06, a Marlin LH .22 mag a LH Ruger Hawkeye in .223. I'm going to save my pennies and try to get a LH AR type rifle. Wish they made a 1911 for lefties.

I picked up the optic for my current AR-15 build. I decided to go with the Holosun HE510C-GR. The 'dot' is very crisp
and very clear. It has a solar panel on it, so it can be powered off of that, with the battery as a backup power source.
Titanium hood and a lifetime warranty to boot.

I started out with a red-dot on my AR and decided it wasn't good enough at 100 yds. Ended up getting one of the Nikon AR scopes. However the dot sight is fine for what the gun was intended for.

Just an update. I contacted S&W about the Contender I picked up. I did some research on my own stating a early 1977 model. I was hoping this was correct because T/C records were lost in a fire in 1997.

Here is the reply today.

Thank you and Have a Great Day!
Smith&Wesson values its customers and we are happy to have served you today. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further assistance.

Very happy to hear this, 70's T/C Contenders bring higher values and this one is spotless. Scope (T/C) on top of gun increase value.

She's a keeper!

I don't have them yet, but I just ordered a bolt carrier group and a flash hider. Here are the links:

Nice you bought the nickel boron. Let me know how you like that one. I will need one for a 300blk pistol build I'm doing.

I just sprung for a new SA XD-2 5" barrel 13 round capacity. I was going to buy a 1911 but after seeing the features, capacity, price and acc. rail I was hooked.

Yet another smokin deal. I'm on a roll.

Came in to my LGS, customer wanted to sell this and some other low end firearms. After the customer left I heard the owner say "John, wash your hands!" I stopped what I was working on and followed the command. (I do contract work, pics are at my work station)

Interested? You bet your azz I'm interested! OK, $425 OTD including FFL. How could I say no?

Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 ga. pumper, upgraded wood and 98% all day condition. Barrel code reads July, 1973. In 1994 the LH was discontinued. Yup, she's a lefty.

So am I.

Man, that wood is beautiful!

Lord, don't we all wish we still had all that disposable income-- like back before we got hitched...
I'm not married; never have been. No wife, no kids, no alimony, no child support, no college debt, no car loans, no medical debts. God, in His infinite wisdom, made me most unhandsome, which sounds like it might not be a good thing. But it's a good thing: Keeps women away and keeps my money in my pocket. I'll never have to say "I'll have to ask my wife" when the salesman says this fancy Noveske AR-type rifle "fits the profile of my life." If I want something, I just say "Wrap it up!"

Lucky you. :s0005:

I needed to set up the Contender for ambi shooting since I'm LH. I installed some Pachmeyers. Had to fit a couple of areas.

I also learned quite a bit. The G1 and G2 barrels only interchange above serial number 195xxx. Bummer. At one time TC would upgrade the receiver on older models. Since I don't want to modify the originality I'll leave it alone.

Waiting on scope rail. Have the new scope.
