Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Southwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.
I am a newbie and I recently watched a Ruger Tech-Tip on how to clean their SR22. The guy said to oil the grooves inside the slide and on the "roof" where the hammer slides. So I wonder, wouldn't (Hoppe's tube of) gun grease be even better?
I like grease better for storage but I think gun oil is better lubrication in the short term
than grease is. I used too much moly grease from Brownells on my Para P-10 once and a hot glob of it actually caused the aluminum inside the frame to melt
