There actually is a place where you can shoot in the area but when I was out there two groups had taken their places up in front & as we were shooting from behind them & off to the side, it didn't feel like the safest target practice.
The area where many of us used to shoot has been fenced off, as ynotAZ has intimated. I understand they haven't begun offering to rip shooters off yet for using the facilities cause they are waiting for building permits/gov't permissions
