Once a quick answer comes, mods please delete to save my face….
I only have government pistols and am branching out to a compact carry in gods caliber. I have a pile of magazines in stock. Will they fit in the short grip and a lil bit will hang out at the range? Naturally the pistol will come with the correct size for carry.

Most compact 1911's use a 6rd mag for flush fit so as mentioned, your 7rd mags will stick out a bit. Unless of course your compact .45 is a para warthog/P10 or a Kimber/Bul doublestack-- in that case your single stack 1911 mag will just fall out

Joan Osborne IIRC. The standard mag will hang down, you will need the officer size mags to fit flush.
