Come on, let's peel back Ted Orberg's self promoting articles:
  • ATF: Little consequence for stores that lose hundreds of guns to theft
  • Margaret Roberts' family battling City of Houston over fallen firefighter's benefits
  • These groups make up Ted Oberg's freedom of information hall of shame

From today's main newspeek story lines

    • Mom gets 40 years in prison for trying to sell her 2-year-old daughter for sex
    • 14-year-old boy arrested in attempted rape of Bronx park jogger
    • Charges dropped for Stormy Daniels, accused of letting strip club patrons touch her

Ya, shock and awe good quality newspeek reporting form this media outlet.

As mentioned previously, USCode does not contain any statutory security mandates nor repercussions towards FFLs who fail to secure their retail merchandise and all ATF can do is "highly" recommend they take appropriate steps.

Surely, no member on this illustrious forum would advocate federal mandates or oversight be leveed upon a select private group of entrepreneurs, especially those home based FFLs, now would you?

I have been going into the huge Scheels store is Sparks since it opened in Summer 2008. Inside are dozens of rifles and shotguns on unsecured display. Handguns are secured, as are AR-type rifles. I do not know of any firearm ever having been stolen from the store. Scheels' policy is that a firearm purchaser is escorted to the exit by a store employee. I thought that was kind of a dumb idea when I bought my first gun there in February of 2011 but it's their policy, so I go along with it. I suppose if there has been a theft, such news would get around to the customers sooner or later. I'm a solidly conservative Republican, so I buy what I want with money I have earned. On top of that, my parents taught me not to steal. I guess such teachings have gone the way of the do-do bird...

No need to be ashamed of your honesty or solid upbringing. They're admirable traits that too many others have forgotten or never experienced.

Why should the ATF care,
dems need to have new gun crimes take place as often as possible in order to
have the 2nd revoked. Far as I'm concerned the fbi and other fed 'law enforcement' operations have purposely neglected their duties and allowed
gun crimes to take place on US soil & that's putting it lightly

Obviously as in Fast & Furious the guns must flow freely, otherwise the ol'
black market won't have enough to ensure the gun violence stays ramped up
